Thanks for your question about the course progress widget on the right side of the website.

Currently, any lesson I've marked complete using my student account shows up as a green arrow, and lessons I haven't completed show up as gray.

The only difference with Lessons that are followed by quizzes are that they appear darker than lessons without quizzes.

This is how it appears for me in Chrome and FireFox, the two main browsers I test daily.

Question – which browser and OS are you using?

You'll also see your progress in a more expanded format at the bottom of the course's homepage.
