    Good morning Andrew D,

    Thanks for your question.

    When you launch the BOOTP-DHCP tool, it's common to see other “devices” asking for an IP address, and you'll want to ignore them.

    That said, after a device like a PLC turns on, it asks for an address quite often, but after awhile its requests slow down to a trickle. To get around this, cycle power to your CompactLogix and after it boots up, if it is setup for BooTP and you are connected to it via Ethernet its MAC should show up in the utility.

    If that doesn't work, I'll need more info to help, including how you are connected to the CPX, and what model it is, etc.
