    Good afternoon Jose,

    Thank you for your question.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is the “free” software I show how to download (RSLogix Micro Starter LITE) only works with the MicroLogix 1000 and 1100, and the FREE Emulator (RSLogix Emulate 500.)

The other thing to keep in mind is that the MicroLogix 1000, 1200, and 1500 do not have Ethernet, so you will need the Serial Programming cables I cover later in this course – that's an added cost of $25 to $60 for the generic cables.

As far as functionality, the 1000 has substantially less functionality than the rest of the controllers, and I don't see many on ebay under $100: http://theautomationblog.com/micrologix1000

    As far as the 1100, I agree there's not a lot under $180: http://theautomationblog.com/micrologix1000

While the 1200 does look appealing (http://theautomationblog.com/micrologix1000) you'll need a serial and or USB cable, plus the paid version of RSLogix Micro or 500.

    Hope this helps,

    Shawn Tierney,
