      Good morning Nghia,

Thanks for your question. I wouldn't think of those as “folders” as they are actually “Programs,” with their own Main Routine, Sub-routines, and Local (Program) Tags.

“Programs” are scheduled to run in a particular within a Task, and the best use cases having more than one “Program” in a task is when the programs are…[Read more]

      Good morning Felipe,

Are you getting an error message creating a new project in Rockwell's FactoryTalk View Studio?

      Good afternoon Nghia,

Since you downloaded and ran the v28 installation but don't see it installed in Windows 10 , I believe the installation is not completing.

In the past I've had issues installing old versions with all the default settings after new versions have been installed.

I recommend installing v28 again, but pay close…[Read more]

      Good afternoon Nghia,

Rockwell typically will only make the latest minor rev of the software available because it fixes bugs that was in the previous minor rev.

That in mind, when I visit Rockwell's website the only v28 I see is 28.03.1. This newest minor rev should work with all v28 files.

On my system (Windows 10) if I go to “Add and…[Read more]

      Good morning Nghia,

      Thanks for your question.

You can use RSLogix/Studio 5000 Emulator to emulate many of the programs in this course, however I don't believe it will work with this lesson on VFDs.

      Hope this helps,

      Good morning Nghia,

Yes, that is a very valid way to write your code, however how you structure your routine will have a big effect on how easy others are able to follow your code.

For instance, this is one way to keep everything organized and easy to follow when you have subroutines jumping to other subroutines:

R01 Main Routine (JSR to…[Read more]

      Good morning Nghia,

It sounds like your old PVP400 won't boot up.

You could still try to use the transfer wizard to upload the file, but if the OS isn't booting then that likely won't work.

You could also try using a USB drive with an autorun script with the old PVP400 powered on. I write about the USB autorun scripts…[Read more]

Just select the Tag's row, and then click on the first icon on the Tag Editor's toolbar (looks like an X next to a row)

      Good morning Viral,

I do cover Windows 10 in “Lesson 20 & 21 Update: New Download Procedure, Windows 10 Install” starting at 3:07.

If after reviewing that lesson you still can't install the software, please post on that lesson the error you are seeing,

      Good morning Rjmatt,

      Thanks for your question.

I currently don't have any lessons on Steppers or Servos, but I would like to add them to all my PLC courses in 2020.

      Good morning Felipe,

In this video I'm referring to the “Insert” key on a standard PC Keyboard. On a full size PC Keyboard it's near the Delete, Home, End, Page Up, and Page Down keys. On laptops the location differs based on the manufacturer.

      Hope this helps,
